Task 17 Google Maps

I have had a play around with Google maps and find it very interesting, we are going down to Phillip Island next week so was able to check out where we are staying and how far away from the beach the house is. It is within walking distance.

Task 22 Facebook

I have had a facebook page for quite a while and use is every now and then to catch up with friends in various parts of Australia, it is fun to use, and a good way of seeing pictures that someone has put on their page. It is better than sending and email with an attachment as it doesn't take up as much space.

Taks 21 Twitter

I have created my twitter account and would probably never use this as I think it is a waste of time. I did look up a few people and have followed them.
I can think of better ways to fill in my time.

Task 14 Technorati

I checked out Technorati and found lots of different things that I would certainly never think were up here, found this site very interesting. Looked up some of my favourite music artists and located ColdPlay video and their latest song. Not sue if this is what we were supposed to be looking for, but hey playing around doing this 23 things has been fun and I have learnt quite a lot about all the various different sites.

Task 13 Delicious

Had a look at Delicious and found the latest photos and news on the dust storm from yesterday, great photos from around Sydney, also news of water found on the moon and various other items.
I decided to do some searching for my hobby on quilting and found some great sites with patterns, materials and instructions on how to do various blocks. Loved this site.

Google Books and Librivox

I have checked out google books and there are quite a few listed on this site that I would like to read, I also checked out the digitized books but there were not very many books that I would read on this site.
Checked out the list of books available on Librivox there were so many to choose from, would love to go back in and load some onto my mp3 player but need to have my plug to do that. There are lots of oldies but goodies on there.

Task 10 Library Thing

I have created my Library Thing page and put some of my favourite books up there. I willl update as I read, acquire and share more books, found it easy to use and will make more use of it as I keep playing. Haven't quite worked out the cataloguing yet.

Task 8 & 9 RSS Feeds

Have had a look at Bloglines and created an account and it will give me updates on lates movies, itunes, books, recipes, daily news and various other things.
It did have some interesting recipes on it and some of the book we going to be released in 2011!!

Task 7 Technology

I have found a new search engine called Bing, I saw it on Sunrise a while ago but have not tried it out yet, but will do a bit of searching and see what results I come up with.

Task 5 & 6: I've created my flickr account

I have put some lovely photos up of my only grandson and a quilt that was made to raise money for breast cancer at our Biggest Morning Tea.

I have checked out Picasa Picasa web albums and not really interested in adding photos anywhere else, as I have created my flickr account 1 will be enough for me to use.

Task 3 & 4

Have completed tasks 3 by setting up my blog & 4 have registered my blog on the Libnet page and have updated this page as well.

Task 2 Life long learning

My Goal for doing this course is to learn how to use all these tools confidently and finish it.

Task 1

Creating the blog was different, not so bad.
Finished task 1 and look forward to completing the next task for 23 things.
